In future wireless communication networks, resilience and low-latency Quality of Service (QoS) requirements will play an increasingly important role. Multi-Connectivity (MC) is a key technical approach to meeting these demands. At our institute, a software framework has been developed that enables the collection of measurement data in real multi-connectivity scenarios, where multiple parallel connections, such as Wi-Fi and 5G, are available.
The performance of multi-connectivity mechanisms, such as packet duplication or load balancing, depends on the joint probability distribution of the link latencies. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to utilize the available measurement data to train an estimator capable of predicting link quality for different multi-connectivity schemes. For this purpose, various machine learning methods, such as neural networks, random forest regressors, or logistic regression will be implemented and evaluated.
In addition, the existing dataset may be expanded with new measurements collected in further scenarios.
