Stellenausschreibungen

We are looking for a Master Thesis Student or Research Intern within a Project on Human Behavior in Crowd Evacuations!

Project Overview

We aim to gain insights on human behavior during large-scale crowd evacuations using Virtual Reality (VR) technology.

The goal is to understand how individuals respond to crowd flow and emergency alerts.

Setting

The project is a collaboration between Fraunhofer FOKUS Berlin and our department.

While they are focusing on the technological development, we are focusing on the evaluation design and execution.
You will have the opportunity to work either in our office spaces on Campus or at Fraunhofer in Berlin.

The position is available immediately and should be filled at the latest in mid-October.

Your tasks

Depending on your role and start date, tasks include:

  • Assisting in finalizing the VR environment design (conceptual work, with potential exposure to Unity)
  • Supporting evaluation design (including research on relevant constructs and questionnaire setup)
  • Leading participant recruitment and data collection (supported by student assistants)
  • Supporting data analysis and preparation of a conference paper

While experiences in experimental design, data collection and analysis (R or Python) are beneficial, a hands-on mentality and excitement about the topic are essential.

Please send a short email including your desired role, your CV and your possible start date to leonie.terfurth(at)tu-braunschweig.de.
