Data Analysis and Simulation for Decision Support in Planning, Ramp Up and Operation of Multi-Use Production Lines.
The project DIAZI aims to design an efficient and predictive digital production system for the automotive and supplier industry to meet the rising demand, by controlling waste and energy demand. This can be achieved by further development and standardisation of existing solutions, tools and architectures. The increasing demands for flexibility in manufacturing can only be served through the use of intelligent products, production facilities and the availability of real-time data. The big challenge here is to transform the existing structures, architectures and conditions in such a way that complete digitisation of production takes place.

In this sub-project, the IWF is initially focusing on data acquisition and structuring, which forms the basis for further analyses and the identification of suitable assistance systems. Furthermore, suitable line and production planning strategies are derived with the help of an agent-based process chain simulation. Finally, a data-based process optimisation takes place for various process steps at different locations of the company “Continental Automotive Technologies GmbH”. The focus is on injection moulding, among other things, for which a CAE process simulation and an AI-based surrogate model are being built. The findings from the various models are finally processed in dashboards, so that the findings can be relevant stakeholders in production.
