In the 6DEMO project, a more detailed investigation of the dispersion behavior of emission-contaminated airflow is being conducted in connection with the examination of energy-efficient HVAC system operation and corresponding system planning in production environments. This will provide insights for improved, continuous operation, as well as more precise planning and design of the relevant technical building equipment. The main focus of the 6DEMO project is knowledge transfer from research to industrial practice, which was not adequately addressed in the 3DEMO project.
The developed system, with a high level of technological maturity, for monitoring and actively controlling the technical building equipment, aims to enable efficient operation without compromising air quality. The planned project aims to develop a modular platform technology that can be tested and evaluated in entirely different production environments. This will validate the high technology readiness level and ensure the transferability of the technology to vastly different production settings.
The challenge lies in the continuous interaction between the physical and virtual worlds, where automated regulation and decision support are derived from the virtual world and the captured measurement data and then applied back to the physical world. In the spirit of a holistic system perspective, insights obtained from various application scenarios in production environments will be incorporated into the planning of the relevant technical building equipment, addressing both planning and operation aspects.
