Term Dates

The academic year officially begins on October 1 and is divided into a winter and a summer semester. Each semester consists of a lecture period and a semester break. The lecture period for the winter term is mid-October to mid-February. The summer term begins on April 1 and the lecture period is mid-April to mid-July.

Winter Semester 2024/2025

Lecture period: Monday, 14 October 2024 to Saturday, 1 February 2025

Christmas holidays: Saturday, 21 December 2024 to Friday, 3 January 2025

Public holiday in Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony):

• 31 October 2024: Reformation Day
• 25 & 26 December 2024: Christmas
• 01 January 2025: New Year's Day

Exception: In the Faculty of Humanities and Educational Sciences, there are block courses from Monday, 30 September 2024 to Sunday, 13 October 2024 for second term students and higher.
