Korcan Dau is a doctoral student in the field of icing and multiphase flow and completed his bachelor's and master's degrees at the Technical University of Berlin. For his master's thesis, he was in Tucson for a collaborative project with the University of Arizona, where he researched the low-frequency behavior of turbulent separation bubbles. At ISM he is now working on the HYBATS project, which aims to integrate a hybrid ice protection system into a full-size thermoplastic slat. In scope of this project, he is redesigning the test section of the ice and multi-phase wind tunnel. In addition to this research work, he is working on the implementation of new measurement methods to determine particle size and trajectory.
