Exchange programmes worldwide

12 countries and 30 exchange programmes

TU Braunschweig maintains many direct partnerships with universities worldwide. As part of these exchange programmes, you can spend one or two semesters studying, researching or writing a thesis at a partner university.

Applying via an exchange programme simplifies the organisation and the financing of your stay abroad:

  • At the partner university, you generally pay no or only significantly reduced tuition fees.
  • Many programmes offer grants to cover living and travel expenses.
  • The recognition of your academic achievements abroad is guaranteed.
  • Many organisational and bureaucratic issues are taken care of for you.

The ISEP programme

ISEP is an exchange organisation from the USA with around 275 partner universities in 39 countries and offers comparatively affordable opportunities to study outside Europe. The ISEP partners are renowned US universities and universities in countries in which TU Braunschweig has no or only a few direct exchange programmes, such as South Africa, Japan or Australia.

International Credit Mobility within the ERASMUS+ programme

International Credit Mobility (ICM) allows students to visit countries outside Europe that are not Erasmus+ programme countries. The prerequisite for visiting the respective university is an inter-institutional agreement between TU Braunschweig and the host university.

Application

To participate in an exchange programme, you must always apply to TU Braunschweig first. After the application deadline, we invite all applicants to a selection interview. If you have been nominated to participate in a programme, you must apply to the partner university independently and within the deadline. The partner university will decide on your final admission to the programme.

Apply here

The application procedure for Erasmus+ ICM outside Europe runs via the normal overseas application procedure. This means that you apply as usual by 15 November for the following academic year for the exchange place at a non-European partner university, and the ICM is granted in the overseas selection procedure.
