Experiments can be carried out on a small scale in the Berlin flume. Typical areas of application include preliminary investigations for planned experiments in the double wave channel. Two-dimensional investigations into wave attenuation over long distances, the wave overtopping of small-scale coastal defence structures or the investigation of wave propagation during landslide-induced tsunamis are just a few examples of the various experiments carried out in the Berlin flume. All of these investigations could be realised quickly and studied efficiently in a variety of configurations.
