The large wave channel is one of the largest freely accessible wave channels in the world. It is equipped with a wave machine, a current system and a deep section. Among other things, this is intended to answer questions about the foundation of plants for the utilisation of renewable energies from and on the sea. In addition, the influence of tidal currents can also be investigated after the conversion. Due to its size, many tests can be carried out under prototype boundary conditions.
