Experimental studies are carried out in the long wave generator in which the wave period of long waves must be approximated. The waves are generated by a controlled inflow and outflow of water at the front of the channel using four external reservoirs and flow-controlled rotary lobe pumps. Examples of possible fields of research can be found in tsunami engineering or in the investigation of meteotsunamis and remote waves.
