Lucas studied Civil Engineering at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) in Brazil, with a focus on the mechanical characterization of asphalt mixtures. In 2023, he completed his Master’s in Transportation Engineering at UFC with an emphasis on the fatigue and moisture damage of asphaltic materials. Since October 2023, he has been a PhD researcher associate at the Institute for Pavements Engineering (ISBS) at the University of Braunschweig (TUBS) under the supervision of Prof. Michael P. Wistuba. The focus of his research is the digitalization of roads using different sensors in asphalt pavements within the “Connected Pavements” concept.
