Survey Course I: American Literature 1

Course content

This course will introduce you to US-American literature and its cultural contexts from the be-ginnings to the end of the 19th century. Caveat: the course has a heavy reading load, so start reading early. The syllabus will be available on StudIP well in advance of the semester. All of the texts will be taken from the first three volumes of the 2017 (9th ed.) five-volume edition of the Norton Anthology of American Literature
