Multidisciplinary Design Optimization

Course content

Students have the ability to mathematically formulate engineering design problems as multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO) problem and then solve it using numerical optimization algorithms. They can choose the proper MDO architecture and optimization algorithm for each problem. The course tutorials help the student to get hands on experience in solving MDO problems on their computers.

Unconstrained optimization methods, Constrained optimization methods, Design parametrization techniques, design structure matrix, sensitivity analysis methods, gradient free optimization methods, MDO architectures, multi-objective optimization, approximation methods in MDO.
