Modern Control Systems

Course content

After completing the module Modern Control Systems, students are able to define methods of controlling embedded and networked systems, transfer them to problems and apply them. The students are able to specify and explain the aspects of consistency, stability and robustness as well as application areas of methods. In addition, they are able to implement the integration of methods in tool chains and apply them to real systems such as vehicles. Students will also be able to reproduce processes of parameter application and automated testing and transfer them to case studies.

Content

  • Simulation environments and real tool chains
  • LQR - Linear quadratic control and Kalman filter
  • H2 - Output control
  • H infinite - robust control
  • MPC - Model Predictive Control
  • DCS - Distributed Control
  • AIC - AI based control
  • Code generation and application
