Course content

Aims

  • Architectural design of high complexity.
  • Advanced design skills: analysis of programme and context, development of thematic and spatial concepts at different scales, generation and verification of a design-defining idea. In-depth elaboration of the design considering conceptual, programmatic and contextual parameters, application and integration of analogue and digital techniques in architectural conception and representation.
  • Artistic work: media-architectural studies and design processes or space-related artistic-sculptural projects from conception to realisation, art and media theory.
  • Theoretical work with research character: scientific work in thematic fields of architecture, e.g. architectural theory, history of architecture and art, history of culture and technology, preservation of historical buildings, preservation and renovation of buildings, construction systems and techniques, production and material technology, sustainable and climate-friendly building, urban studies, sociology and psychology of architecture, building studies, computer-generated architectural concepts, etc.
