Exercise course und Lab course: Starting from a sequenced genome, the students develop an initial model of the metabolism of a bacterium. The model is optimised and corrected using experimentally obtained metabolome and phenotyping data. Models of the metabolism under different boundary conditions are calculated, potential drug targets and metabolic optimisations for the use of the organism for substance production and the influence of genetic changes are predicted using modelling.
Practical course: You will apply your theoretical knowledge with practical programming projects in the field of machine learning.
