Project Summary:
Bioinks are materials that are used in the 3D printing of living tissue. However, current bioinks have several limitations that prevent the creation of bioactive tissue structures. The innovative core idea of this project is to integrate local gas depots in the form of gas vesicles into the bioinks to improve the cellular gas supply. This advancement enables the printing of complex functional tissue structures, which in future will allow drugs to be developed more quickly and synthetic transplant organs to be used.
