The 10th International Conference on Countercurrent Chromatography
Pre-Conference Workshop: July 30-31 ||| Conference August 1-3, 2018
Solid-support free liquid/liquid countercurrent separation techniques such as Countercurrent Chromatography (CCC) and Centrifugal Partition Chromatography (CPC) evolved about 50 years ago. CCC and CPC provide the opportunity to design and adjust suitable two-phase solvent systems in respect of the predicted polarities of target substances/metabolites in complex mixtures. As both the mobile and the stationary phases are liquids, either can be used as mobile phase, thus opening up a wide range of operating modes. As chemisorptive effects to solid materials are absent in CCC/CPC, full recovery of injected materials is achievable. Moreover, scale-up protocols can be implemented for the up- and down-sizing of separation procedures.
After the 1st International CCC 2000 Conference in London had gathered scientists from academia and industry, CCC 2018 will be celebrating our 10th anniversary meeting. CCC/CPC technology has experienced many improvements for small laboratory applications as well as for industrial- scale isolation of target compounds using robust and commercially available equipment. Innovative developments in this field are in progress worldwide, thus strengthening and broadening the potentials of CCC/CPC.
