Fenja Ahrendt

My name is Fenja Ahrendt. I’m a research assistant and PhD student at the Institute of Jet Propulsion and Turbomachinery at TU Braunschweig. In my research I investigate soot formations in sustainable aviation fuels.

I investigate sustainable aviation fuels to effectively mitigate large as well as ultra-fine soot particle emissions.

The possibility to be part of the change for future aviation motivates me daily to continue working on my topic.

Sustainable Aviation Fuels give the possibility for quick changes since some of them can be used in today’s engines with little effort. Long term they play an important role for long distance flight where it is not possible to use fuel cells or similar.

The network gives the possibility to interact with a lot of different disciplines and receive outside input on your research. Additionally we as PhD students have a lot of possibilities to further our knowledge outside of our specific research topic and make valuable connections for the future.
