Within Lagos, Nigeria, the transport infrastructure connecting main land and port area has shown to be an obstacle for city development. In particular, bridges are jammed depending on the time of day. Our goal is to design and simulate transport modes for the respective area to provide decision makers with alternative actions.
The project is developing a simulation model for the Lagos mainland and seaside area. It will be calibrated using available traffic data as well as geometric data. After calibration, alternatives will be modeled using different transport modes as well as geometric options using a multicriteria approach. As a result, a specific model of the Lagos area and a generic method to design multimodal transport will be derived.
