My name is Junaid Ajaz Dand (M.Sc). I completed my Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering at Alliance University Bengaluru, India, in 2016. Following this, I pursued a Master's degree in Advanced Computational and Civil Engineering Structural Studies (ACCESS) at the Technical University of Dresden, completing it in 2019. The focus of my master's thesis was on achieving density-based modelling of the mechanical behaviour of wood through computed tomography and the finite element method. Additionally, during my master's course, I undertook a research project titled 'Experimental and Numerical Investigation of Bending of Wood with Metal Strap Under High Temperature and Moisture'. Since completing my master's studies, I have been working in the construction industry as a Civil Structural Engineer. My research interests include high-rise structures, mass timber buildings, sustainable building materials, and the application of AI in construction. Furthermore at IBMB, I am part of a group that aims to create guidelines for the construction of multi-storey buildings using timber, with a specific focus on taking wind loads into account.
