International Female Programme – research internships. The programme addresses young female academics at the very beginning of their career after graduation with a master`s degree from foreign universities. Successful applicants receive a 6-month contract for working as a research scientist half-time within one of the Cluster research units. Additionally, funds for an intense language course are offered to the participants.
A call for applications will be issued annually on our website.
Personalised compatibility concepts. Doctoral researchers with family obligations have their own individual views on compatibility of career and family, and the corresponding needs. The Equal Opportunity Office offers coaching and plans for practical support.
Flexible day care. The Cluster will fund continuous contracts with the University day-care centre that guarantee flexible day care and individual childcare in case of sickness or scientific travel. Help for families in temporarily difficult situations is provided in a non-bureaucratic way. This concept has been successfully exercised before in CRC 880.

This project offers workshops, lectures and accompanying measures for interdisciplinary collaboration within the clusters’s structures, in order to support the doctoral and post-doctoral researchers with different disciplinary backgrounds in their joint work. The workshops aim at raising awareness for own disciplinary standards and practices, and address common difficulties of interdisciplinary work.
