Typical areas of activity for industrial and business psychology include personnel management, human resources and business consulting, organizational development as well as market research and marketing. This new book series provides profound insights into these different research and application areas with a distinct focus on current practice-oriented topics, e.g. “coaching”, “competence management”, “work and health” or “work satisfaction”.
Simone Kauffeld is editor of the series.
The following issues were written by Prof. Dr. Simone Kauffeld:
The requirements for competence management are changing due to current challenges, such as demographic or technological change, an altered labor organization or the growing digitization. The book series “Kompetenzmanagement in Unternehmen” covers different aspects, like differences between various life stages, specific features of medium-sized businesses or demands of a digitized working environment. As such, the series promotes a strong practical focus next to its theoretical rationale.
Simone Kauffeld, Inga Truschka and Ralf Knackstedt are editors of the series.
The following issues are published in the series:
Grenzüberschreitungen im Kompetenzmanagement [Frontier crossing in competence management]
Chancen und Herausforderungen des digitalen Lernens [Chances and challenges for digital learning]
The objectives of the Organizational Psychology section is to encourage and allow for broader worldwide access to research and theoretical articles of rigor and relevance in the many fields which constitute organizational psychology. Organizational psychology is a large field, with some concepts being studied as old as leadership, which was a favorite of Plato and Chinese scholars in the first century BCE. Leadership and leadership development are hot topics in management and professional education in every field. Other topics in the field include emerging topics such as coaching, mindfulness, emotional intelligence, social capital, networking, positive psychology, followership, relational climate, flourishing and neuroscience studies. But we also address timeless concepts like individual differences, impact of personality traits, subjective well being, inter-organizational conflict versus cooperation, structure and systems, climate and culture, roles and style, HRM, HRD, competencies and competency development, complex systems, teams, cross-cultural management and the quality of relationships.
