Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is essential for evaluating the environmental impacts of complex systems like aircraft. However, the process is often complex, requiring significant expertise and time. The aviation sector, due to its reliance on intricate supply chains and diverse material inputs, presents unique challenges for LCA, including the need for precise modeling of emissions and resource usage across different life cycle stages. By incorporating advanced techniques such as parameterized background systems, researchers can assess variations more effectively, enhancing the precision and efficiency of environmental impact assessments. This thesis aims to implement libraries like "lca_algebraic" , which incorporates symbolic calculus into LCA, to streamline and improve the assessment of aircraft models. The focus will be on evaluating the feasibility of this tool in efficiently managing inventory data and conducting a comprehensive sensitivity analysis, considering uncertainties, variabilities, and the identification of environmental hotspots.
The detailed research scope will be finalized upon consultation.
