Motivation:
As the global emphasis on sustainability
intensifies, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) feel the urge to adopt
sustainable practices and digitalization. Based on the current data from the workshops
on sustainable transformation of SMEs in Europe and Singapore, valuable
insights into the driving forces, challenges, and strategic priorities of
companies should be derived, navigating this complex landscape of both regions.
By identifying synergies and differences, the goal is to provide actionable
frameworks and tools that can support sustainable development and facilitate
the shift from Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0. within manufacturing SMEs. Following
sub-topics will be elaborated:
· Finding the Common Base: establish a
comprehensive understanding on internal and external conditions (e.g. with PESTEL-analysis)
· Fields of Interest in Sustainability
Improvements:
o
analysis
and comparison of trends from both approaches (the most important fields, the highest
hotspot, the least field of knowledge etc.)
o
identification
of the next steps of companies after implementing the workshops
o
analysis
and comparison of the gaps and opportunities for further support and development
· Aggregation of results and development
of supporting tool
o
evaluation
of existing tools for SMEs supporting sustainability activities and adoption of
Industry 5.0. practices
o
derivation
of a requirements catalogue for a tool applicable in both regions, tool
development
