Summary of the overall project:
MultiDis is a project within the BMBF-funded ProZell Competence Cluster. The main topic of the investigations is the dispersing process of lithium-ion battery slurries. By a coupled CFD-DEM simulation and its experimental validation via suspension and electrode properties (including investigation and reconstruction of the microstructure), the dispersing process in the planetary mixer is optimized with regard to the carbon black structure, the dispersion time and the energy requirement. In accordance with the objectives of the cluster, the focus is on the resulting quality and performance of the cells as well as their costs.
