First considerations

Professional practice + experience abroad

Internships abroad are an ideal way to combine professional practice and experience abroad. In an international work environment, companies are increasingly dependent on employees who have not only learned foreign languages at school, but have also spent time abroad practicing and acquiring intercultural skills.

An internship abroad can therefore open a career door. It is usually easier to organise than to study abroad:

  • It can be integrated into the study programme at many stages, and the duration and timing can be set with great flexibility.
  • Preparation time is usually shorter and accommodation costs are lower than in the case of studying abroad.
  • In some degree programmes, there are mandatory internships that can be completed at home or abroad; in others, an internship abroad is an integral part of the degree programme or is at least highly recommended.
