Certificates and Transcripts

You can print your certificate of grades yourself via TU connect.

You can choose from the following certificates:

• Course of study

• Examinations passed (with and without module titles)

• Passed modules

These certificates are valid without a signature. If you require a signed/officially stamped certificate of grades for specific purposes, please contact the Examinations Office by e-mail (fk2-pruefungsamt(at)tu-bs.de). Students of examination regulations that are not shown in TU connect should also contact the Examinations Office for a certificate of grades. The issuing process takes up to three days; you will be notified as soon as the certificate of grades is ready for collection.

You can obtain English certificates of grades in the same way as German certificates of grades "Where can I get a transcript of records?".

As soon as all examinations and coursework have been completed and the overall grade has been determined, you will be informed that you have passed your degree programme. Certificates are issued automatically without an application and can take up to eight weeks in accordance with the APO, calculated from the time at which the Examinations Office becomes aware that the last examination or course achievement has been passed. As soon as the certificate documents are ready, you will be informed that they are available for collection from the Examinations Office.

The following must be presented for collection:
identity card or passport, certificate of exmatriculation or proof of transfer (new/changed student ID). If you have any questions, please contact: fk2-pruefungsamt(at)tu-bs.de.

Certificates, transcripts and diploma supplements can also be collected by an authorised representative upon presentation of a power of attorney.

In principle, a degree certificate can be issued on request as soon as the Examination Office has received the relevant proof that all examinations and coursework have been completed. The degree certificate is ungraded.

Together with the final thesis, the Examinations Office sends both examiner a form on which they can confirm that the thesis has been passed (4.0 certificate). As soon as the Examination Office has received these forms back and all other examinations and coursework have been completed, the ungraded degree certificate can be issued. However, the examiner are not obliged to confirm that the thesis has been passed before grades are awarded! It is not possible to issue a degree certificate when the thesis is submitted or uploaded.

The degree certificate can also be collected by an authorised representative upon presentation of a power of attorney. You can find a corresponding sample here
