If registration for the exam is not possible due to technical reasons, it must be registered on time using the registration form or via email to the examination office. Exchange students should register for the exam directly with the examiner.
Students of the double major Bachelor´s degree in Chemistry must register for and deregister from exams themselves via TU connect. Students of this program should contact the examination office of Faculty 6 (pruefungsamt-fk6(at)tu-braunschweig.de) if they have any problems with online registration.
You cannot register for examinations from the pool model via TU connect or the Examination Office. Please contact the examiner directly for registration and ask him to issue you a certificate upon successful completion. Please submit this certificate to the examination office.

In the case of technical problems with the online registration or deregistration, please contact the Examinations Office before the deadlines mentioned above. Please send an email to the Examinations Office immediately after you notice a technical problem. Every report of an error will be followed up by the Examinations Office.

If you are ill on the day of the exam, you can withdraw from a registered examination in accordance with § 11 (3) APO. A corresponding medical certificate (with stamp and signature) for the day of the examination must be submitted to the Examinations Office immediately. Otherwise the examination in question will be graded as "fail"!
A template for a corresponding medical certificate or a declaration of examination incapacity can be found in our forms.
The student's illness is deemed to be the same as the illness of a child for whom he or she is predominantly responsible. This also applies in the case of the illness of a close relative of the student who is in need of care according to a medical certificate, if the student officially proves, i.e. through an official body, that he or she is entrusted with the care of the close relative.
What does immediately mean?
According to case law (BGH judgement), a timeframe of two weeks is considered to be an appropriate upper limit for immediate action. This means that the sickness certificate for an examination must be submitted in original to the examination office no later than two weeks after the examination date.
If you are unable to attend yourself, you may also send the certificate to the Examinations Office by post or in advance by email; the original document must be submitted immediately.
Even if you became ill during the examination, you can still withdraw from the exam. In this case, the withdrawal must be explicitly communicated to the supervising person immediately, consult a doctor without delay (i.e. on the same day) and submit a medical certificate to the Examinations Office.
If you are already ill but only realise during the examination how much the illness affects you, you should proceed as described above. However, if you continue, submit your work, and wait fort he exam result, withdrawl citing illnes is excluded.
Anyone who uses falsified medical certificates is liable to prosecution under § 279 of the German Criminal Code (Strafgesetzbuch).
§ 279 Use of false health certificates
Anyone who makes use of a health certificate of the type specified in § 277 and 278 to deceive in legal transactions is liable to a custodial sentence not exceeding one year or a monetary penalty, unless the offence is punishable by a more severe penalty under other provisions of this section.
The Examination Office will investigate any suspicion and report it if there is evidence to support it!
Please bear in mind that a conviction can have far-reaching consequences and also results in an entry in your criminal record.
If the first attempt is taken within the standard period of study, this attempt is considered a free attempt and can be repeated to improve the grade. The repeat examination for grade improvement must be taken by the end of the semester after next at the latest. The better result will be counted.
In both cases, students register to retake the exam via TU connect.
A supplementary oral examination is required if a written examination or written examination+ is not passed in the 3rd attempt (§ 13 (5) APO). For other forms of examination, such as examinations that were taken orally from the outset, the supplementary oral examination is not applicable.
The same applies if the 3rd attempt is deemed to have been failed due to unexcused non-attendance or cheating (§ 11 (2) and (4) APO).
The following applies to the supplementary oral examination:
The special examination regulations are always decisive for the awarding of credit points.
