International SE²A Award for sustainable aviation - Call for application
The Cluster of Excellence SE²A offers long-term research stays for excellent experienced researchers from abroad at the two recognition levels defined as "SE²A-Fellowships" and "SE²A-Awards". Close collaboration during a research stay with the scientists of the Cluster SE²A fertilises scientific exchange in a direct way, builds trust, and creates joint research results.
Description
- 60,000 Euro award is possible for a research stay in Germany. The duration of stay is usually one year, in exceptional cases two years.
- Nominations for an International SE²A Award may be initiated by established researchers of the SE²A partner institutions. Nominating academics must guarantee that they can provide the necessary infrastructure for the award winner’s own research projects.
Criteria for nomination
- Academics whose fundamental discoveries, new theories, or insights have had or promises a significant impact in the field of sustainable aviation and who are expected to continue producing cutting-edge academic achievements in the future are eligible to be nominated for the award.
- The nominee’s academic achievements in the field of sustainable aviation or for sustainable aviation relevant fundamental research must be internationally recognised and proven by corresponding successes in research.
- At the time of nomination, the nominee must have been predominantly living and working outside Germany for at least five years.
- The nominee must not yet have entered permanent employment in Germany at the time of selection.
- Repeated nominations are not desirable.
Review Process:
The proposal will be reviewed by independent experts in the field of the application. On this basis, the SE²A Board will select the successful proposal based on the originality of the concept, the scientific quality, and the expected contribution to the SE²A Cluster.
