On this page you will find everything you need to know about studying for a Master's degree in Technology-oriented Management.
The Master's degree program focuses on in-depth specialist knowledge as well as methodological and practical skills in the areas of management and, in particular, at the interface between economics and technology. This prepares students for a career in business and society and for (scientific) research in the subject areas mentioned. Students can set priorities with regard to a more practice- or research-oriented focus. In addition to in-depth knowledge of economics, graduates have special integrative skills with regard to management in various technology sectors and special concepts at the interface between management and technology. The focus here is on interdisciplinary and personality-developing skills, which are often taught in team and project-oriented courses. Comprehensive methodological skills in specialist areas, project management and scientific work enable students to solve strategically relevant problems in business practice as well as to conduct scientific research in the increasingly important interface area of management/technology.
The study of technology-oriented management can be divided into 3 areas: Management, Interface Management & Technology and Technology.
You can download an overview of the structure of the degree programme here. Please pay attention to the version of the examination regulations that applies to you.

We recommend that students make arrangements for a semester abroad in good time. Due to the lead time, the 3rd semester is ideal for an exchange semester. In principle, however, any semester is suitable for a stay abroad. Due to the wide range of options in the Master's program, it is relatively easy to have credits from abroad recognized. You can obtain further information on the recognition procedure from your international coordinator.
Information on possible partner universities can be found on the website of the International Office. Plan your semester abroad well in advance, as the application deadlines are approx. 5 (Erasmus, Europe) or 9 (rest of the world) months before the start of the semester abroad. Relevant information on formalities and funding opportunities can also be found on the website of the International Office. You should also look out for the monthly information events on Europe and overseas.
If you have any questions about the recognition of credits, please contact your international coordinator.
The cooperation with the University of Nebraska (Omaha) and the University of Rhode Island (Providence) is a particularly good opportunity to combine a semester abroad with the Master's degree program in Business Information Systems. Here you can earn the Master of Management Information Systems (Omaha only) and the Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the same time as the Master of Science:
The outlined model is open to all ToM Master's students at TU Braunschweig. As a rule, studying abroad must be financed individually, with the largest item being university fees. However, the universities have made a number of free study places available to TU Braunschweig, which are primarily awarded to students with very good prior achievements.
In addition, TU Braunschweig regularly endeavors to acquire DAAD scholarships. Further funding opportunities may be available through scholarships from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Fulbright Commission and the German Academic Scholarship Foundation (SDW).
