Climate change and dynamic developments in coastal regions call for interdisciplinary collaboration. The "Coastal Engineering and Research" scientific hub focuses on connecting research, education, and knowledge transfer to develop innovative coastal protection strategies and tackle challenges effectively. Nature-based solutions, sustainable coastal management, and modern methodologies are central to its mission.
A new master’s program, Sustainable Coastal Engineering and Science, aims to train urgently needed specialists. By creating guidelines, offering policy advice, and working closely with regional stakeholders, the hub ensures that knowledge is translated into practice, securing coastal safety, ecological health, and economic viability for the future.
