The lecture “Environmental and Social Sustainability in Engineering“ is offered to all bachelor students from the “Sustainable Engineering of Products and Processes” program. The course intends to introduce students to the concepts and methods available to evaluate environmental and social sustainability in Engineering. Specifically, the course aims to teach systems thinking and critically analysis of products and processes from a life cycle perspective. The students are able to identify global challenges on environmental sustainability and describe the levers of product and process engineering on those challenges based on the principles of absolute and relative sustainability.
