The seminar "Dimensioning and Desgin of Wastewater Treatment Plants" is offered in the summer term as part of the module Practical Lab Training an Dimensioning and Design (6 CP) for the Master Study Programs Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Environmental Natural Sciences (Geoecology).
Dimensioning and Design takes place as an on-campus class in the summer term 2024. We will discuss in the first class meeting, whether individual class meetings will take place as online-meetings using BigBlueButton or WebEx. All dates can be found in StudIp.
The first class meeting takes place on April 11, 2024 in PK 3.3. Participation is mandatory. Please register for the class in StudIp.
Module: Practical Lab Training an Dimensioning and Design (6 CP)
- Practical Lab Training on Wastewater Treatment
- Dimensioning and Design of Treatment Plants
During this course, the participants will work independently in student teams and will dimension the most important components of a wastewater treatment plant. Using the information and knowledge acquired in the classes on wastewater and sludge treatment as well as given dimensioning data, the students will work in groups and design wastewater treatment plant processes.
Every week meetings with the instructor and/or tutor will take place in order to discuss problems encountered during the work process. At the end of the semester each team will present its solution to the class and discuss it with the participants.
The class presentation and a written report on the project work will be the basis for the grading.
Due to a change in study regulations this class is now offered in the summer terrm.
