The class Water Supply and Wastewater Management is offered in the summer term for the Bachelor Study Programs Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Environmental Natural Sciences. Within the Pool-Model students from all study programs may participate as well.
No exam prerequisites, but we recommend that you voluntarily submit the five homework assignments covering water storage, flow dynamics in pipes, water supply systems, sewer systems (spreadsheet calculation assignment) and waste water treatment as exam preparation. All homework assignments can be found in StudIP.
The class Water Supply and Wastewater Management will be offered as an on-campus lecture in the Summer Semester 2024. All further information can be found in StudIp.

The class introduces fundamentals of water withdrawal, potable water treatment and dimensioning and design of water supply networks. It imparts basic knowledge on wastewater discharge, combined and separate sewer systems as well as questions of dimensioning and construction of sewer systems. The class gives a survey on wastewater treatment, explains mechanical, chemical and biological treatment steps as well as nitrogen removal. Finally questions of sewage sludge production, sludge treatment and above all sludge disposal are discussed.
