The class Environmental Protection for Engineers is a joint project of the Institutes of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering and the Institute of Waste Management. The class is offered in the winter term for the Bachelor Study Programs Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Environmental Natural Sciences. Within the Pool-Model students from all study programs may participate as well.
The class Environmental Protection for Engineers is offered as an on-campus lecture in the winter term 23/24.

The course Environmental Protection for Engineers imparts basic knowledge on biological, physical and chemical processes important for environmental protection. The class also discusses ecological, economical, social and political aspects which are necessary for an understanding of engineering tasks. It gives a survey on the fundamentals of biological, chemical and physical water, wastewater, exhaust air and waste treatment and explains basics of ecology and energy management. National and international environmental laws will be also be part of the class.
