Explore solutions to one of humanity’s most urgent challenges: sustainable urban development! IUDeCS is a student competition jointly organized by ISU and the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University. Together, we seek to design sustainable strategies and future-proof concepts for „Low Carbon Communities”. We explore the potentials of real existing sites in Germany and China to propose pathways for a liveable and sustainable future!
The teams from Germany and China work towards the same goal, but on sites in their own country with local university peers. After submission, a jury with specialists from China and Germany will jointly evaluate the submitted proposals. The jury will be held online so that all participants can listen in and experience the jury’s discussion.
Architectural competitions are central to our practice as architects. In IUDeCS you will get guidance and support you need for developing a design proposal that meets the challenges of such a competitive process. The studio will introduce you to collaboration environments that are employed in architectural practices around the globe.
The awarded projects will be featured in an international exhibition and accompanying publication.
