The Specialised Information Services programme for science funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) supports scientists in their research by establishing subject-specific and demand-oriented services and information infrastructures. These are intended to provide unrestricted, primarily digital and location-independent access to specialised literature, research-relevant information and discipline-specific services.
The Specialised Information Services of the various disciplines are managed nationwide by academic libraries and infrastructure institutions. They complement the respective local services and information offerings of the universities and research institutions.
The University Library manages the Specialised Information Service Pharmacy (since 2015). Between 2020 and 2024 the University Library also managed the Specialised Information Services BAUdigital.
