Sustainable energy production on campus

Our photovoltaic systems

Due to its technical and scientific focus, the TU Braunschweig has particularly energy-intensive utilisations. In order to strengthen the supply of renewable energy, the university has pushed ahead with the installation of photovoltaic systems on suitable roofs in recent years. In 2020 and 2023, 12 PV systems with a total output of 960 kWp were put into operation. In 2025, four more systems with an output of 340 kWp will go into operation. All together the total output adds up to 1,384 kWp.

The construction of PV systems is an important step for the Technische Universität Braunschweig to establish efficient and climate-friendly energy generation at the university. This is also suitable for reducing the university budget sustainably by cutting costs.
