Exercise, health, and community in pleasant weather. The TU Braunschweig Campus Run returns for its 16th edition!
With around 600 participants, the event set a new record: Participants ran either 5 km in the Fun Run or 10 km in the main race across the university campus. The route took runners from the starting point at the sports field on Franz-Liszt-Straße via Beethovenstraße, the North Campus grounds, and Ottenroder Straße back to the finish line, where the podium awaited them.
“We’ve never had this kind of turnout before,” enthuses Florian Schneider, organizer of the Campus Run. “We’re thrilled about the event’s popularity and also that so many motivated runners participated in ideal weather conditions.”
This year's winners of the Campus Run were Henry Brauns in the men's 5K race, who crossed the finish line in just 17:01, and Lotta Ahlburg in the women's race with a time of 18:23. The 10 km winners—Dean Sauthoff (33:28 min) in the men’s race and Dorit Wellmann (38:09 min) in the women’s race—impressed with their fabulous times.
A highlight was the award ceremony, featuring trophies for the top three finishers in each category, as well as for the three best teams (Eintracht Wintersport, Unischwimmen, Prinzenpark parkrun) and the largest team with 14 members (Beachen - bin sowas von dabei).
“The Campus Run has once again shown just how strong the sense of community is in our team,” says Mathias Steiln, Director of the University Sports Center, “The entire University Sports Center team can be very proud of their dedication, because without this support, such an event would not be possible.”
Once again this year, our photographer @ahmed_graphyy captured the Campus Run with his camera. So stay tuned for dynamic photos that capture the athletic vibe and will be published shortly.

A huge thank you to all the running enthusiasts who made the 15th Campus Run a very special experience once again, despite the rainy weather! ✨
With lots of energy, endurance, and good spirits, you showed that you don't need sunshine to enjoy running. Whether soaking wet or overjoyed – your sporting spirit was contagious!
Around 400 runners took to our two routes and completed them with flying colors. While the fastest runners were rewarded with shiny trophies and medals, all participants took something home with them: pride, team spirit, and plenty of sporting motivation.
Konrad Stamer was the first to cross the finish line in the 5km race with a time of just 17:02 minutes. Jonas Franzki was the fastest to complete the 10km race with a time of 34:00 minutes. In the women's 5km race, Theda De Jong was the fastest with a time of 20:08 minutes! Dorit Wellmann was the first to cross the finish line in the 10 km run with a time of 34:38 minutes.
The grand finale was once again our popular running shoe raffle worth €150. We congratulate the winner and hope they enjoy their new pair!
Special thanks go to our sponsors: Die Löwenzahnärzte from Braunschweig and our partner Techniker Krankenkasse, who actively supported the campus run. And, of course, our photographer @ahmed_graphyy, who is always there at our sporting events! Thank you for your dynamic photos, which perfectly capture the sporting vibe every time ❤️
See you next year! We're already looking forward to it.
Our campus run is back again this year, now in its 14th round! In summery weather, around 500 participants ran either the 5 km fun run or the 10 km main run across the university grounds.
Some participants were seen in creative costumes: a group of 31 people in shirts and ties, a group in judo suits and even someone in an inflatable squeaky green dinosaur costume stood out from the crowd. Overall, there was a colorful mix on site, as people from every age group were represented at the run. The participants had one thing in common: they were all highly motivated and had just one goal in mind.
All 500 runners set off from the starting point on the Franz-Liszt-Straße sports field and ran along Beethovenstraße, the Nordcampus site and Ottenroderstraße back to the finish line, where the winner's podium awaited them.
“It was a very successful morning for athletes and spectators alike,” said a delighted Florian Schneider, organizer of the campus run, “many new and familiar faces put in great performances!”
After a good quarter of an hour, the first athletes crossed the finish line. An impressive performance that was rewarded with trophies and medals at the winners' ceremony at the end.
“It was another great event all round,” said a delighted Mathias Steiln, Head of the University Sports Center. “The entire team at the University Sports Center once again put on an excellent event!”
