The Library of the Department for Social Sciences was founded in 1964 and contains around 56,000 books and 20 journal subscriptions. It is one of the largest libraries for social sciences in Lower Saxony.
The loan period is longer compared to other libraries at the TU: four weeks with the possibility of renewal. Important textbooks can be borrowed by students of the department for eight weeks.
Our library can not only be used by TU staff and students, but is open to everyone. If you would like to register as a user in order to use the library stock and services, you must register first in person (by presenting your identity card) to have a user ID card issued. The library registration is free of charge and only takes a few minutes. Other library cards (including those issued by the University Library of the TU Braunschweig) are not valid at the Library for Social Sciences.
Our library collection also continues to grow thanks to individuals who donate literature to us. We would like to thank all donors for their book donations on behalf of the users of our library.
