With this collaboration, the clusters aim not only to further strengthen a networking concept but also to actively consider the special needs of their female researchers and doctoral candidates. Upcoming topics will be e.g. on role management & setting boundaries as well as scientific writing.
We are pleased that we were able to bring together new female researchers from Clusters of Excellence of the region Braunschweig/Hannover as part of the "Female Networking Workshop". The workshop was organised by Minka Pawlik (Equal Opportunity Office) and Tatjana Szalkau (SE²A Managing Office) in cooperation with Linda Block (coach) and was advertised extensively to the Clusters of Excellence in the region.
After a brief introduction of the Cluster of Excellence SE²A by Dr Doris Pester (CEO), the workshop content was introduced by Linda Block. In addition to interactive parts for the participants to get to know each other, there were two work phases to develop the future needs and wishes of the participants for their respective Clusters of Excellence. The workshop aimed to offer female researchers a protected room to discuss their challenges, needs and wishes.
The meeting was the kick-off for a collaboration in the area of equal opportunity measures of the Clusters PhoenixD, Quantum Frontiers (both Leibniz Universität Hannover), RESIST (Medizinische Hochschule Hannover) and SE²A. The aim for the clusters is to invite one another to selected events, to further strengthen a networking concept and to actively consider the special needs of their female researchers and doctoral candidates.
