On March 5th-6th, 2020 the doctoral researchers of SE²A spend two days at Burg Warberg to network and design their programme for the SE²A Research Training Group (RTG). The RTG will be self-organized by the researchers and will include doctoral seminars, a summer school, a publication club, networking activities and measures for public relations. Also, two new representatives were elected by the doctoral researchers. Congratulations to Hendrik Traub and Maximilian Rolinck!
The programme of the two workshop days was very diverse. After being welcomed by SE²A Speaker Prof. Jens Friedrichs and SE²A Board Member PD Dr. Gabriele Raabe, the researchers had to become active. With the support of Katharina Heuer of TU Braunschweig’s "Project Group Teaching and Media Education" they found out more about shared interests with the other researchers. In the afternoon it was time for a short history lesson: a visit to the Marienborn Memorial of the German Separation, which brought closer German history - not only to the international researchers.
On day two the focus was on the work itself. In a "World Café" about the design of the SE²A Research Training Group (RTG) the doctoral researchers developed enthusiastic and impressive ideas for close cooperation and mutual support. As interdisciplinary collaboration is crucial for SE²A research, Prof. Corinna Bath and Dr. Imme Petersen, Chair for Gender, Technology and Mobility at TU Braunschweig, provided exercises to raise awareness of different academic backgrounds.
We would like to thank everyone being involved in the realisation of the workshop and are looking forward to the first SE²A Summer School in 2020!
