The Large Wave Flume (LWF) at the Coastal Research Center (CRC) in Hanover is being expanded with a new wave machine, a circulating flow system and a deep section to create a large research device that is unique in the world - the LWFplus. In order to extensively examine the processes for the interaction of waves and currents taking place there and to optimize the control algorithms for the future LWFplus during the construction period, a true-to-original replica of the later LWFplus on a scale of 1:10 was built at the Marienwerder site in the immediate vicinity of the Coastal Research Center.
The construction work on the LWFplus started in September 2020. To give you an insight into the construction progress, you can click on the picture below leading you to the construction site webcam.
