At the Braunschweig location, eight independent junior research groups are working in the research nodes NanoLight and NanoParticle and introduce themselves here.
The joint research node NanoLight is concerned with research into nanoscale photonics below the wavelength of light. NanoLight covers the development of top-down manufactured light sources and bottom-up self-assembled nano-devices for signal amplification up to metrological methods, ubiquitous standards and sensor applications. The research node is organized in the junior research groups NL1-NL4 at TU Braunschweig and NL5-NL6 at Leibniz Universität Hannover.
The metrologically demanding characterisation of particulate nanostructures is the content of the NanoParticle research node. The aim is to record the application-relevant properties of dispersed nanoparticles as accurately as possible using a series of model systems and to establish and apply traceable measurement methods for characterising the nanoparticles. Here, the QUANOMET junior research groups NP1-NP4 are working to understand, measure and apply the properties of nanoparticles.
