As key qualifications, modules from the overall program of interdisciplinary courses of the TU Braunschweig can be taken, which according to the module handbook require an active proof of achievement for successful participation (e.g. exam, term paper, presentation, etc.). You can find an overview in the Pool-Directory. The courses from the program „Handlungsbezogener Kompetenzen“ can also be included here.
Language Course can be taken, if the following applies:
- First foreign language learned in school: At least level B2
- Second and third foreign language learned in school: from level B1 and upwards
- all other languages: from A1 and upwards
This applies to foreign students:
- German courses can be included starting at level C1.
In the professionalization area of the Bachelor's and Master's programs FWM and Mathematics, an industrial internship can be completed (2 LP in the Bachelor's and 3 LP in the Master's). In order to be credited, the following applies:
- the industrial internship must last at least ten consecutive working days
- an internship report for presentation to the examination board must be submitted to the examination office. The report should contain a confirmation from the company, a description of the company and a description of the activities in the company. The report should consist of at least one and at most two DIN A4 pages. A declaration of autonomy must be included.
The internship should be beneficial to the studies. Possible internships can be found, for example, via the job exchange of the Career Service der TU Braunschweig. Alternatively, you can search for internship positions online via appropriate platforms.

For the recognition of other modules that are not listed in the overall program of interdisciplinary qualifications, a written application must be submitted to the examination office.
How many credit points you can or must earn through key qualifications can be found in the examination regulations that apply to you.
In order to have your completed key qualifications credited, please submit your certificate of achievement during office hours at the Examination Office. Please note that it is not the date of submission that counts, but the date of the examination.
