Hee Yoon graduated with a master's degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Seoul National University (SNU) in 2017. Following her graduation, she worked as a researcher at the Agency for Defense Development (ADD) for about two years. She also served as a lecturer, teaching fluid mechanics and thermodynamics at Woosong University and Ewha Womans University.
In 2024, she was appointed as a global fellow with the Korea Foundation, which is the public diplomacy arm of the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She completed her doctoral studies at the University of Tokyo in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Her research focused on numerical simulations for drag reduction in low Reynolds number hypersonic vehicles. She is currently conducting experimental and computational research on turbulent transition phenomena in hypersonic inlet designs.
