This module provides an overview of computer-aided aids for the design of mechanical components and sensitizes them to their sensible use. Possibilities are shown, but the limits and dangers in use are defined. For this purpose, the basics of calculation (general standards or guidelines) and the resulting restrictions are presented. In this context, the designer’s duty of care and liability rules are discussed in particular.
The students can select different computer-aided tools for design and optimization and in a targeted manner and apply them systematically. They are aware of the respective areas of application, possibilities, and limits of the tools, as well as the rights and obligations of the user.
The places for the course will be distributed via a lottery procedure. Participation in the lottery is possible from now until the 28th of october 2024 by registering for the lecture in Stud.IP.
The lecture will be offered as a block course in the winter semester 24/25. The blocks are divided as follows:
1st block 30/10/2024: Introduction
2nd block 9/11/2024: SysML, Mathcad
3rd block 16/11/2024: Gear design using eAssistant
4th block 3/12/2024: Exam/Fair
In addition, optional practice sessions will be offered where you will have the opportunity to use the LK 6.2 computer pool room.
