1. Between relationships and self-image: how social networks shape professional identity.
The Master's thesis will investigate how social experiences in the course of one's career influence one's professional self-image and what role relevant relationships in organisations and/or in one's private environment play. This will be analysed using the method of qualitative ego-net interviews (e.g. with young academics). If you are interested, just send us an email.
2. Authentic scientists and science communication:
The bachelor's/master's thesis will investigate whether the assessment of authenticity and trustworthiness of scientists depends on the style (e.g. emotional, non-emotional; approachable, distant...) in which they communicate about scientific evidence in digital media (e.g. a video or blog entry). An online experiment is to be conducted for this purpose. If you are interested, please write to f.hendriks(at)tu-braunschweig.de.
3. Activist scientists and science communication:
The bachelor's/master's thesis will investigate whether the assessment of the trustworthiness of scientists (who communicate about scientific evidence in digital media, e.g. a video or blog entry) depends on whether they position themselves as convinced or activist on a topic (e.g. climate protection). An online experiment is to be conducted for this purpose. If you are interested, please write to f.hendriks(at)tu-braunschweig.de
