A person with university or professional experience (mentor) offers another person (mentee) support, advice, tips on networks and thus accompanies him or her for a certain period of time in their (professional) career.
Whether you are interested in the direction of your studies, you have questions about the application process in companies, or whether you are interested in a doctorate – as a mentee you will meet with your mentor about once a month for the duration of a semester and can discuss your topics. The content of these meetings is determined by the participants themselves – depending on their needs and requirements.
A supporting programme is offered to accompany the event. Three network meetings per session with other mentors and mentees offer an exchange even beyond your own mentoring tandem. The participating students are prepared for mentoring in a workshop at the beginning and acquire additional soft skills relevant to their studies and career during the semester. Experienced external trainers offer courses on topics such as assessment training, communication, moderation, presentation.
Participation in mentoring offers all participants exciting opportunities for further training, exchange and networking. The offer is free of charge. Mentors are volunteers at Mentor.ING. You can find personal impressions and information in the experience reports of former participants.
